The Miami X Giants beat the Brooklyn Superbas, 6-2, at Elian Gonzalez Field. Miami left fielder Ricardo Martínez earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He was 4-5 with 2 home runs and a triple. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2. The last-place Superbas have lost 5 consecutive games.

Martínez had no bigger at-bat than in the bottom of the fifth when the former first round draft pick hit a triple. The triple gave Miami the lead, 2-1. It was his 5th triple of the season.
