| Late Rally by Whales Secures Win | The Houston Bayou Rats got a superb performance from center fielder Daniel Durán, but the Chicago Whales still won the game, 9-7. Durán was named the player of the game despite the loss. He was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Chicago has run its win streak to 5 in a row.
The Whales were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth when first baseman Jack Thompson turned a 1-2 fastball from Alfredo Ángel into a 3-run home run. The walk-off home run sent a roar through the crowd and gave Chicago a thrilling 9-7 win.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Thompson said after the game.
