Benefiting from Yoshitomo Ishii's productive game, the Boston Beaneaters downed the Hollywood Stars, 20-10. Ishii slugged 2 home runs. He scored 3 times and drove in 6 for the Beaneaters. Boston reliever Tony Moreno was credited with the win, to go to 1-0. Elvis Evans took the loss for Hollywood. The win boosts the Beaneaters to 52-56. The loss puts the Stars at 50-58.

Michael Beasley had a big 2-run single for the Beaneaters in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Boston leading 6-5 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from Elvis Evans and stroked the single to right. It was his 5th hit of the season, and more importantly, it put the Beaneaters ahead, 8-5.

"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Ishii told the Boston Bulletin.
