| Beaneaters Win at Oakland, 4-2 | The Boston Beaneaters topped the Oakland Oaks, 4-2, in Gehrig League action at Monster Park. The player of the game was Boston pitcher and Laplace, Louisiana native Carl Hall. Rick Gates got the save, his 21st in 24 chances. Boston, at 53-57, occupies 5th place in the Division 1.
The Beaneaters beat the Oaks with some clutch hitting. The single by Jorge Marés in the top of the sixth is a good example. With two down, Marés gave his team the lead, 2-1, when he came through with the big hit.
Oakland manager Kenny Lafrenière said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
