| Late Rally by Superbas Secures Win | Both teams had their chances, but the Brooklyn Superbas eventually prevailed at Manse Park.
The Miami X Giants went down to defeat to Bryan Russell and his Brooklyn teammates. The final score was 3-2 in favor of the Superbas. The save was Dan Westberry's, his 27th.
Had Bobby Godwin not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Godwin hit a run-scoring double. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Superbas.
"Good pitching, clutch hitting," said Brooklyn skipper Chad Zerbe. "I can't complain."
Today's win puts Brooklyn at 53-69, while Miami falls to 64-59.
