| Quakers Nip Bayou Rats, 3-2 | Houston got a terrific performance from pitcher Tomás Suárez, but it wasn't enough to beat the Philadelphia Quakers. Philadelphia won the Myers Field contest, 3-2. Suárez was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 6 innings of 4-hit ball. Carlos Rodríguez, credited with the win, is now 2-4. He allowed 2 runs on 7 hits in 6 innings. Jesse Boone notched his 28th save in 38 chances.
In the bottom of the 6th, first baseman Clayton Cole gave Philadelphia the lead when he hit a 2-run home run. The Quakers had been trailing 2-1, but the two-out home run off Houston pitcher Tomás Suárez changed that -- and Philadelphia went on to win.
"If you ever get this game figured out," said Houston manager Paul Lupi, "let me know."
Philadelphia now has a 3-game win streak.
