| Bayou Rats Solve Beaneaters, 5-3 | The Houston Bayou Rats racked up a win at The Rats' Nest, bumping off the Boston Beaneaters, 5-3. Octávio Sánchez, who started for Houston, pitched effectively for his team. The Bayou Rats bumped their record to 63-60 with this latest triumph.
Had Christian Clark not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Clark hit a 2-run single. That made the score 5-3, in favor of the Bayou Rats.
"I'm proud of the way our guys played today to come out with this win," Sánchez told the Houston Bulletin.
