| Durán Delivers Walk-Off Win for Bayou Rats | The Houston Bayou Rats took Boston pitcher Wes Johnson's best shot and still were able to claim a win at The Rats' Nest. The final score had Houston getting past the Beaneaters, 2-1. Johnson went 7 innings and allowed no earned runs, striking out 7. Reliever Alfredo Ángel picked up the win. His record improves to 3-8. Rick Gates took the loss. The 5th-place Beaneaters have dropped 4 straight games.
The Bayou Rats got a big at-bat from center fielder Daniel Durán. For the game, Durán went 1-4 with a walk. In the bottom of the tenth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 97th hit of the season gave Houston a 2-1 lead.
"I felt we were ready to go," said Houston manager Paul Lupi. "Our pregame was pretty good."
