| Extra-Inning Win by Superbas over Beaneaters | The Brooklyn Superbas wiggled past the Boston Beaneaters, 2-1, at South End Grounds. Brooklyn pitcher Miguel García earned player of the game honors. Brooklyn reliever Jesús Colón picked up the win, upping his record to 2-2. Richard Bracy shouldered the loss. Brooklyn is last in the Division 1 with a record of 64-81.
Chris Howell's hit in the top of the 14th was a game-changer. With two out, he rapped a cutter from Richard Bracy for a solo home run. It put Brooklyn in front, 2-1.
"This is a resilient bunch," said Brooklyn manager Chad Zerbe.
