Miami and Houston duked it out at Elian Gonzalez Field and the X Giants came out victorious.

Ángelo Verond made an impact in the 8-6 Miami win over Houston. Verond, who is tied for 6th in the GL in extra base hits with 75, went 2-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Miami reliever Michael Román picked up the win, bumping his record to 1-1. Aaron O'Donell was collared with the loss.

The X Giants got a big at-bat from catcher Howard Lynch. For the game, Lynch was 2-4 with 2 doubles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. In the bottom of the seventh, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 30th double of the season gave Miami a 7-6 lead.

"We'll take this win and move on," said Verond.

The X Giants bumped their record to 76-73 with this latest triumph.
