Quakers Bang Out 7-5 Win Versus Cleveland
|
The Philadelphia Quakers had to overcome a big game from Cleveland left fielder Chris Love to leave Sockalexis Stadium with a 7-5 victory. Love went 4 for 4 with 4 singles and a walk. Alejandro González finished the game for Philadelphia and earned his 6th save. The Spiders have now dropped 7 straight.
Roberto Montoya, who is a two-time Gold Glove Award winner, chipped in for Philadelphia with a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth. For the game, the center fielder had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 runs batted in.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Montoya, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
