Superbas Come Back Late to Top Beaneaters
|
The Boston Beaneaters got a superb performance from pitcher Bill Parsons. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Brooklyn. The Superbas won the game, 2-1. In spite of the loss, Parsons was named the player of the game. He threw 7 innings of 3-hit ball. Brooklyn now sits at 37-50, while Boston falls to 49-37.
The Superbas got a big at-bat from shortstop Tim Norrish. For the game, Norrish went 1-4 with a double. In the top of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 18th double of the season gave Brooklyn a 1-0 lead.
"Anything I can do to help the team win," said Norrish.
