| Beaneaters Take Nail-Biter Over X Giants | The Boston Beaneaters faced a tough opponent in Miami pitcher Eduardo Contreras, but did just enough to pull out the victory at South End Grounds by a final score of 2-1. Contreras went 8 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Boston reliever Mario Ortíz picked up the win to move to 1-2. Enrique Álvarez suffered the loss. Boston is now 59-70.
