Stars Edge Oaks, 6-5
|
Hollywood starter Carlos López had a strong outing against the Oakland Oaks at Monster Park. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 6-5 win. The winning pitcher was López, now 2-2. He tossed 6 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 7. Darren Frazier was credited with the save for Hollywood, his 1st of the season.
Had Steve Taylor not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Taylor hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Stars.
"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Taylor.
Hollywood is still hoping to get on a roll. The win is just their 7th in 18 games.
