Oaks Win 2-1 Walk-Off
|
The Oakland Oaks and Cleveland Spiders put on a pitchers' duel at Monster Park.
The Oakland Oaks eked out a 2-1 win versus the Cleveland Spiders at Monster Park. Nobody did more than pitcher Brent Richardson, who captured player of the game honors. Oakland reliever Jorge Ayala picked up the win, bumping his record to 2-2. Claude Mosley was collared with the loss.
Scott Wilkins was the walk-off hero for Oakland. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Oaks pinch hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"This place was electric at the end," Richardson said.
The last-place Oaks raised their record to 25-35.
