Quakers Come Back Late to Clip Superbas
|
The Philadelphia Quakers topped the Brooklyn Superbas, 7-6, in Gehrig League action at Myers Field. The player of the game was Philadelphia pitcher Sam Lahoda. Philadelphia reliever Felipe Espinoza got the win, raising his record to 1-2. Jerry Henderson was tagged with the loss. Philadelphia is now riding a 3-game win streak.
Eric Richardson was the walk-off hero for Philadelphia. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Quakers first baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Richardson said after the game.
