Pilots Lose to Spiders, 4-3
|
The Cleveland Spiders did just enough to secure a 4-3 victory over the Seattle Pilots at Sockalexis Stadium. Nobody did more than pitcher Parker Webber, who captured player of the game honors. Ricardo Reyes notched his 16th save in 21 chances. The Spiders saw their win-loss record go to 37-67. At the same time, the Pilots fell to 57-50.
One important at-bat for Cleveland came with one out in the bottom of the second inning. With the bases loaded, Webber hit a run-scoring single, which contributed to the Spiders win.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Webber told the Cleveland Citizen.
