Bonden Delivers Clutch At-Bat for Hollywood in Walk-Off Win
|
The Hollywood Stars topped the Miami X Giants by the score of 6-3, with the largest share of the credit going to right fielder Bill Bonden. Bonden was 2 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Stars. The win was credited to Hubert Cloutier in relief. His record improves to 3-1. António Ortega took the loss. The Stars bumped their record to 57-56 with this latest triumph.
Bonden had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the ninth. On a 1-2 fastball from Steve Henry, he banged a grand slam home run to right, giving the Stars a 6-3 lead. It was the 8th home run of the year for Bonden.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Bonden.
