Victory Pushes Quakers Record to 10-6
|
Philadelphia shortstop Jack Thompson had a 5-RBI performance, which helped his team grab a 12-5 win over the Cleveland Spiders. The save was Rubén Martínez's, his 1st. At 10-6, the Quakers have played well so far.
Thompson contributed a big hit, a grand slam home run, for Philadelphia in the bottom of the third. With his team trailing 4-2, Thompson took a fastball from Shinkichi Nishida and stroked the home run to left. His 3rd home run of the season allowed the Quakers to leap in front, 6-4.
"It feels good to get this one," Thompson told the Philadelphia Times.
