4-1 Perfectos Win over Stars Evens Season Record
|
The St. Louis Perfectos got a stellar performance from pitcher Carl Gunther, who handcuffed the Hollywood offense en route to a 4-1 win at Juliet Gunn Field. Gunther, now 2-2, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 4, walking 2, and allowing no earned runs. Picking up the save was Tim Kuhn, his 2nd.
Yoshifumi Shiraishi, who won the Rookie of the Year Award in 2027, aided the St. Louis cause with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the second. For the game, the third baseman was 1 for 3 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"It was a good effort all around," said Shiraishi.
The Stars drop to 11-12 and continue their inconsistent start to the 2030 season.
