Victory Pushes Bayou Rats Record to 26-8
|
The Houston Bayou Rats defeated the Boston Beaneaters, 7-2, at South End Grounds today. Leading the charge for Houston was catcher Donald Johnson. He went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Luke Dale got credit for the win, improving to 5-0. He allowed 2 runs on 7 hits in 7 innings. The Bayou Rats improved to a lofty 26-8.
Josh Simpson, who is tied for 8th in the GL in home runs with 8, chipped in for Houston with a 2-run home run in the top of the first. For the game, the second baseman had 2 hits in 5 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 2 RBI.
"Enjoyed this one," Johnson told the Houston Gazette. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
