Victory Pushes Stars Record to 21-17
|
The St. Louis Perfectos and Hollywood Stars provided some drama at Gilmore Field.
St. Louis pitcher Reese House gave the Stars all they could handle, but in the end, Hollywood left Gilmore Field with a 3-2 win. House allowed 1 earned run on 2 hits over 6.1 innings. Hollywood reliever Hubert Cloutier got the win, raising his record to 2-1. Tim Kuhn was tagged with the loss.
Had Steve Taylor not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Taylor hit a 2-run single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Stars.
"I felt we were ready to go," said Hollywood manager John Novinsky. "Our pregame was pretty good."
The Stars saw their win-loss record go to 21-17. At the same time, the Perfectos fell to 18-21.
