Spiders Lose, 10-8, at Juliet Gunn Field
|
Cleveland first baseman John Wood was sensational. He went 4 for 5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. St. Louis beat the Spiders, 10-8. Wood was named the player of the game despite the loss. St. Louis has a 3-game win streak, while Cleveland has lost 3 in a row.
Félix Cortéz hit a 2-run triple off Will Hansen in the bottom of the seventh, which put the Perfectos in front, 8-7. Cortéz had 1 walk, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 1 for 3.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Cortéz told the St. Louis Daily.
