Stars Need Extra Frames to Get Past X Giants
|
Ron Bush had a good game, but he could not keep the Miami X Giants from falling, 5-4, to the Hollywood Stars at Gilmore Field. The Miami first baseman went 3-5 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once in the loss. Hollywood reliever Ben Henderson picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Steve Henry took the loss. The Stars bumped their record to 34-31 with this latest triumph.
The Stars got a big at-bat from center fielder Steve Taylor. For the game, Taylor went 1-3. In the bottom of the tenth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 51st hit of the season gave Hollywood a 5-4 lead.
"It's nice to come out on top today," said Taylor.
