Road Win Lifts Houston to 2-1 Lead in R1
Riding the 4-hit performance of shortstop Jorge Castro, the Houston Bayou Rats got a road win against the Boston Beaneaters, 8-3, in Game 3 of the League Championship Series today. Castro was 4 for 4 with 4 singles. He scored 3 runs for the Bayou Rats, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 2 games to 1.

A crucial at-bat came with runners on 2nd and 3rd and two out in the top of the sixth inning. That's when second baseman Josh Simpson, who is a three-time All-Star, drew a walk. The Bayou Rats went on to win.

"We maximized our offense today," said Houston skipper Paul Lupi. "That makes everyone's life easier."

Game 4 is scheduled for tomorrow in Boston. Slated to start are Octávio Sánchez for Houston and Lou Murray for Boston.
