Stars Turn Back Brooklyn, 5-3
|
Hollywood first baseman Jeff Taylor was instrumental in his team's 5-3 win over the Brooklyn Superbas. Taylor, who is on pace to hit 45 home runs this season, went 2-4 with 1 run scored to lead the offensive attack for the Stars. Darren Frazier was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 25 of 25 save opportunities. Brooklyn's current losing streak has reached 4 games.
Taylor had a key at-bat for Hollywood early in the game. With the bases loaded, he hit a grand slam home run. It was his 26th home run of the season and gave Hollywood an early 4-0 lead.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Taylor.
