Bayou Rats Rally For Late Win Over Spiders
|
The Cleveland Spiders got a sterling performance from pitcher Karl Jacoby, but the Bayou Rats still prevailed, 4-3. Jacoby was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He threw 7 innings of shutout ball. Igider N'Gotho, credited with the win, is now 4-1. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1 innings. The Spiders, at 54-93, have lost 4 in a row.
Mark Alexander was the walk-off hero for Houston. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Bayou Rats pinch hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Houston manager Paul Lupi.
