Houston Bayou Rats starter Kevin Sánchez turned in a top-notch performance against the Brooklyn Superbas at The Rats' Nest. The result was a win for the Bayou Rats, 3-2. Emílio Guerra finished to wrap up his 1st save. Houston improves to 4-3 as they look to defend their championship.

The Bayou Rats got a big at-bat from third baseman Diego Reyes. For the game, Reyes was 1 for 3 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Houston a 3-2 lead.

"We were in it," said Brooklyn manager Doug Bochtler. "We just didn't score enough runs."
